Lady Filmmakers Festival 2019 – Future Harvest
Orchard or desert, which is real to the old woman armed with a sharp tool?
Interview with Writer/Director/Producer Carolyn Jennifer Corkindale
Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
It was aimed at an Australian Film Festival with a climate change theme for 2019
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
Beautiful cinematography, locations, acting and a nasty surprise!
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
It's about how Utopias can change to Dystopias, and how an individual can hide from a terrible reality.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
The film didn't change much - it's short and to the point and having the right locations made all the difference. The actor contributed some of the dialogue.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
Love and hate!
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
One festival thought it was too horrific for their audiences!
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
Fame!
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
Film festival directors, distibutors, journalists.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
The film is a warning about what could happen if everywhere is desertified.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
Could this happen?
What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?
I am working on a new story - a coming of age fantasy - and a documentary about an old house and families who've lived there, and in post-production of a film about the consequences for an Australian family when the son is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War.
