Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
I really wanted to portrait my twin-brother, so I made my graduate film about him. His character and the way he deals with himself are absolutely astonishing and extraordinary and I felt the urge to pay tribute to this.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
You might get a new perspective, learn something or maybe you will even be able to deeply relate to what John is talking about!
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
My film - or rather my protagonist - gives extremely personal insight on rather universal topics like gender or identity.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
The way my movie came out in the end, is nearly the complete opposite of how it was when I started working on it. At some point (after more than a year of work, actually) I gave up on my first idea and tried to approach my theme from a completely new angle.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
The feedback I got is absolutely overwhelming. Some viewers told me, that they could deeply relate to what is said in the film and others wanted to know everything about the way the movie was made.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
As most filmmakers want, probably - I want my film to have a wide audience. I want people to watch it, being touched by it and to get to this point, the movie has to be visible!
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
I want the people watching this film to be touched by it or to get a new perspective on the topics the film is about, or even get in touch with these topics for the first time because of the film.
Would you like to add anything else?
I am (and was) so thankful for the support I received during the past years while I worked on this film. But mostly I am thankful that my brother worked with me and shared so much!
What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?
At the moment I am mostly focusing on experimenting with sequential printmaking and animation.
