My Fight
When you break your Wings, remember you have Claws.
Interview with Director/Producer Bebi Zekirovski
Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
Once I heard Mitche's story I got so attached to the story and I thought that it would be a great idea to share his story with the world because there are so many people who can benefit from this film. As we all know how big is drug addiction problem between young people then there is also a big need for films like "My Fight" that gives young people and their families a hope for their problem.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
This film has to be watched by young people for them to see first hand how easy is to get in to drugs and get locked in that hard life style from where it is very hard to get out. But in this film Mitch explains how he found the way out of his drug addiction and the mental health issues .
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
The personal story of Mitch is a great problem in the world.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
The script and my plan was originally to be a short film but the film developed so much during filming that it ended up as a feature length movie.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
The feedback so far is great, we have feedback from young people and parents who think that the film is a must see for teenagers, the parents and everyone who is going trough rough times with drugs and mental health.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Knowing the story and finishing the film we were hoping for good feedback and we are so happy to see that the film got the massage out there and the feedback is great.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
I would like the film to be seen by as many people as possible so the message gets to all the people that need help.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
distributors, sales agents, buyers, journalists.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
I'm hoping to make a big impact with young people to stop them getting in to drugs or make them help their friends or family members that are already in to drugs.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
Can this affect me or my family ?
Would you like to add anything else?
I would like to recommend to everyone that has seen the film or will watch it later and to everyone that needs help with drugs or mental health.
What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?
At the moment I'm working (still in research) on a new documentary that will be filmed in India and it's a very unique project.
