It's Wijilan
A short documentary about how hip hop can truly make an impact at the very core of life itself. truthful and heartwarming.
Interview with Editor/Director Alexander Sinaga
Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
This film, reveals our activities in supporting the children's future around the Wijilan area to create masterpieces, to distribute positive energy into a vehicle that shades and encourage positive vibe for the hood, even the whole world.
We do realize that kids are the future. Similar to the definition of "home", they are the stepping stone. We see music as the way they process themselves, and yet build the physical interaction among their friends.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
We need to deliver this film to the whole world, that the future is in our hands and neighborhoods should be our focus.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
Love is something that colours our life, something that is naturally coming to our life and bonds everything together into one big story - by giving love seeds to our future generations.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
Everything happens organically and according to the circumstances.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
Everything was good and with blessings, especially from the parents who gave a high appreciation for this workshop.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Of course, we didn't expect this film to have such a large social influence. I feel very proud that it is regarded as important in the community.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
We simply spread the love.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
We hope that this film motivates many individuals to do good in their communities.
