Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
We wanted to create a short that was relatable and humorous. Kaitlyn Black and Kelly Vrooman approached us with the idea and we all dove right in!
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
Because it's quick, hilarious and relatable to just about everyone's dating experiences. And watching something funny is an amazing way to connect to new people.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
The short was born out of a breakup that our writer Kaitlyn experienced, but the subject matter (how hard it can be to find a partner or sustainable relationship) is something that pretty much everyone in the world can relate to.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
The script went through some minor rewrites before shooting, but the most evolution has come in the continued development of a series of relatable Deli shorts for people of all different kinds of dating experiences.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
The feedback we've received has been really positive! We've been lucky to have audiences that connect to the humor and want to see more pairings and situations for 'ordering relationships.'
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
I think the biggest surprise is how much of a 'little short that could' reception we've had. Some of the initial feedback is what pushed us to make more shorts in the same style and turn it into a series.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
Just that, visibility!
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
More than anything, we want this short to make people laugh and for it to be something that pretty much anyone can connect to for a pick me up.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
We love questions about the origin story of the film and how it got made! And we also love to hear how audiences relate to it through their personal relationship experiences.
What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?
Tesseract Creative has several shorts and a feature on the docket for production in the next year, including a continuation of shorts for the Deli franchise with Kelly and Kaitlyn!
