AmDocs 2019 – Line

April 08, 2019 by Carmela Baranowska

Line has Down syndrome. She has a dream to make her own short film. She gets the chance to do it...

Interview with Writers/Directors/Producers Fabien Greenberg & Bård Kjøge Rønning

Congratulations! Why did you make your film?

The idea came after meeting a common friend who has a daughter with down syndrome. She was part of a dancing group. We went to check the group and there we met Line. After a few meetings, she told us she had a dream which was to make her own short film. We decided to help her and to follow all the process.

Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?

It is a beautiful portrait of a young and brave woman who chases and fulfils her dreams against all odds.

Line

How do personal and universal themes work in your film?

A young woman explores the creative field with bravery and limitless commitment.

How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?

The making of the film had a huge impact on Line´s personal development.

What type of feedback have you received so far?

Standing ovations. True admiration of Line´s effort and character.

What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?

We want people to see the beauty and range of Line´s character and commitment.

Line

Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?

Any additional distribution would be welcomed.

What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?

As wide and deep as possible.

What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?

What is a human being?

What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?

Several. A film about the stepson of Leonard Cohen. A documentary in Uganda. Etc.
