Lee DeWyze "Castles"
In a park with a small lake, there is a treehouse. Here the memories come back to life, the shadows of children persist over time, but one day that place will be razed to the ground, building a nuclear power station that will exploit the water of the lake.
Ionizing radiation into the water will produce a blue light (Cherenkov radiation) that will be projected into the universe in memory of that place.
Interview with Writer/Director/Animator Stefano Bertelli
Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
I was commissioned to do a music video.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
Because it combines art and physics. Two opposite things that I think can be together. It's a bit of a translation of what fascinates me, even if I'm not an expert in physics. I only translated it from an artistic point of view.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
It is a nostalgic film linked to childhood, but in reality, it is connected to all the things that are no longer there. But the message is positive, we need to look further.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
The film is short so it evolved during filming.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
A friend after seeing it he said to me: it is dramatic. But I don't see a dramatic ending.
