Aesthetica Film Festival 2019 – Happy?
A short film about relationships between generations, about the impact that we all have on each other. Who looks happier in young eyes, tired mother or happy grandmother?
Interview with Writer/Director Petra Trampuž
Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
I was in a strange situation with my neighbors and I watched what certain behaviour can do. And because of my kids, I wanted to show to everybody that we need to pay attention to every little thing.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
Because you can remember yourself about the impact you have on others.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
I think this can be the story of anyone, anywhere.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
At the beginning it was much harder, it was my experience; after I focused more on universal messages.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
We are a small country without funds for distribution, so being in the cinemas and receiving feedback from my colleagues' filmmakers and festivals feedback is really good.
Happy?
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
No, I am very aware of how and with what funds film was made.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
Being more visible. That maybe somebody will like it. If so contact me.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
All of them.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
To make people think, especially that little things can say a lot too.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
Do you think that words and apparently small decisions can influence everybody?
Would you like to add anything else?
I just hope you'll enjoy it.
What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?
Another short film: Waiting (about the kid whose mother is away a lot due to work) and on feature comedy (no title yet).
