Congratulations! Why did you make your film?

Animal welfare is an important issue worldwide. Paul Steklenski of Flying Fur Animal Rescue and his rescue team deserve the recognition and support of what they do to selflessly save innocent lives.

Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?

Flying Fur is a true story about ordinary people doing amazing things.

How do personal and universal themes work in your film?

Have you ever wondered how you can make a difference? Learning about someone who wants to make the world a better place in small ways. It's something that most people can relate to.

How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?

This project was intended to be a personal profile piece about one person doing something selfless to help innocent animals, however, it evolved to more than even we thought. From one man's story to a community that share a passion to save, it changed from an envisioned 10-minute story into a 40-minute documentary.

What type of feedback have you received so far?

People of all ages are attracted to the positive story of humanity making a change for the better. The documentary has even received audience awards in film festivals along the way. The film resonates in a fundamental way and we're very appreciate of that.

Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?

People are incredibly passionate about the issue of animal welfare and the depth of their compassion is an amazing thing to witness.

What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?

Education. The issue of animal rescue and adoption is something that deserves awareness for everyone.

Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?

Journalists, film festival directors and distribution companies can help further education and awareness about animal welfare.

What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?

Inspire people to adopt animals and motivate them to save lives.

What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?

Why is such an intense effort necessary to save animals?

What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?

The impact of personal legacies and the creative minds that keep alive.

ALICIA WSZELAKI and MATTHEW NOTHELFER are Path 88 Productions. They are visual creatives that have been working in the media industry for over three decades. Their passion is telling other people’s stories. They strive to be involved on a personal level with their subjects while also being inspired by their lives.

ALICIA WSZELAKI, has traveled the world for her career. She’s dedicated herself to discovering the stories that nurture a desire, in all of us, to explore. Alicia lives in San Diego County and is part-owner of the media company, Path 88 Productions, which directs and produces documentaries and films. She has hosted and produced travel films for Lonely Planet TV as well as Condé Nast Video. She is a graduate of San Diego State University.
