Congratulations! Why did you make your webseries?
Thank you. I had a personal story I wanted to tell, I wrote a script about it. I was happy with the script, so I decided to put a team together and make it into a webseries.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this webseries?
I actually don't know the answer to that. I don't know why people watch things. Entertainment? I think it's entertaining. To relate? I think it's relatable. Overall, I think it's a compelling story that can make you feel something.
How do personal and universal themes work in your webseries?
I didn't care that much about the universal. I focused on the personal, and the more I shared it with people the more they told me they related to it. So oftentimes, the personal is more universal than we think.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
It evolved in terms of storytelling and also characters. As I was making it, I started seeing things that weren't necessary for the story. And also, the actors changed some things about the characters and I really welcomed that.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
So far, people have liked it and that makes me happy. It's a lot of the male vulnerability aspect of it that people enjoy. The writing, the acting, and the cinematography are very pleasing I'm told.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Not really. Some of it though did give me new ideas and i learnt a lot about filmmaking from the feedback.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
I hope it reaches larger audience than i was able to reach on my own.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this webseries’s message?
Hum...distributors and producers would be nice. The story is part of a much larger world, so an opportunity to create more of that world as a TV show would be great!
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this webseries to have?
I just want to people to watch something that they want to talk to their friends about after. I want them to be entertained, and want to watch it again. I like when things are re-watchable value.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this webseries?
Why aren't men more comfortable in general with their feelings?
What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?
Right now, I'm writing another season. But I'm mostly doing standup.
