A father bears his soul, pain, fear and regret for not preparing them for the eventual institutionalized racism they would face as they grew into adulthood.

Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
Thank you. I made this film to quell the fire in my spirit. I would give a major piece of the film away by stating the particulars, but being a single father of ethnic kids in a sea of misinformation about you and your kids relevance to the American dream, is complicated.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
Audience members who enjoy palpable story telling and cinematography are in for a treat. It’s framed by Harlem Rennaissaince architects, jazzed up by a Kansas City Jazz Hall of Fame inductee, and voiced by myself. You will be left jarred by these true events through a smooth delivery and powerful content.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
This is the most personal work I’ve ever done. It is essentially much more than a peek into the journey of love for my children, but the peril the single black father is facing when conducting himself as suggested by society. When the American Dream is buried beneath the carbon content in your skin. Universally it will voice resistance, love, honor, respect and the insanity of the hatred of racism.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development?
This is a very short seven minute piece, so structurally it hasn’t evolved, but the tone and incendiary atmosphere fueled by the Trump administration have legitimized the story and possibilities of more people viewing “Inventory”.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
To be clear, this film is all true, and it’s tough to chew. No happy endings or winners. It’s heavy visually, metaphorically, blatantly, and audibly. It’s a art performance fusion with music, poetry and edgy narrative.
Those who can play in those lines will find it rewarding. Those that don’t will stay quiet and discuss their discomfort at home.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Personally the feedback has been great. People thank me for my prospective and are sparked into asking what can be done to change the current ignorant paradigm.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
The use of fear is the great divider. The forced silence of disenfranchised voices that are feared, creates a lack of empathy towards those individuals. The film has voiced a first person omniscient point of view in the life of a single parent, black father. If i can break down the great division and initiate understanding, my job is done.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
I would like to get it into a forum where more eyes can see it. Television. Distribution.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
I would like to champion the single black father's plight. I would like the most marginalized voices in our cities to be heard and humanized. We love our children as passionately as anyone else, and we are the only fathers that need to teach our kids to not only avoid evil doers, but police as well, for fear of loss of life.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
Who are the American voices and views, we really have not seen represented in our print, television, and film mediums? If you’re looking for fresh voices of truth and love this is a hum dinger!
Would you like to add anything else?
I’d like to thank you for the opportunity. Furthermore i’d like to add this short is a journey into life, prose, jazz, love and pain. It’s thought provoking as well. Try it. I know you will be fed and nourished from it, and not just full oil junk.
What other projects are the key creatives developing or working on now?
I’m currently shooting a trailer for a “Kids” movie concept. Directing and D.O.P. on television shows. I also have another short out called “Inspirit” which was featured here as well.
