Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
Have been in the industry for quite a while and love movies. I love storytelling and vicariously joining the journey of characters in film. The film is loosely based on aspects of my own life, past regrets, family turmoil and hopes for the future but first and for most I hope the audience finds the film entertaining.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
You’re taken on a journey of four people who wish to turn their lives around and are dealing with universal family and life issues. I feel most of the audience will be able to empathize with their struggles and instantly connect with the story and characters.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
It’s about struggles, the need to succeed, to better one self and fulfill your hopes and dreams and how life never quite works out the way you expected or hoped.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development and production?
The script took two years to write and develop, apart from a few minor changes through various drafts the script did not deviate greatly from its original concept.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
Positive, people are enjoying the universal themes of the movie and are engaging with story and characters.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
I feel I have achieved what I set out to do with this film and the feedback from the audience was what I had hoped to hear.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
Publicity, making people aware of its existence, trying to get as many people to see the film as possible.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
Everybody, lol.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
Firstly I would like the audience to find the movie entertaining, that simply had a good time, secondly that they empathized with many aspects of the story and characters and connect with the story.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
There is no easy way out of life, short term fixes don’t work. Your past will always catch up with you.
Would you like to add anything else?
Please come and see my film, look beyond its low budget exterior and enjoy the journey.
What are the key creatives developing or working on now?
My next screenplay pays homage to the western film genre, it’s a modern take on the classic western, it has influences from ‘Paint your wagon’ to the great Sergio Leone.
