Congratulations! Why did you make your series?
I made this series because there is a severe lack of transgender male representation in the media. After I started to feel comfortable in my own transition, I longed to see narrative stories that reflected my experience - which were few and far between.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this series?
You should watch this film because you care about the human experience and are looking for something that is intimate and authentic.
How do personal and universal themes work in your series?
Everyone knows what it's like to start dating someone new, to feel that hopefulness of what might be. There may be more intricacies to dating as a transgender individual, but we're all looking for the same things.
How have the script and series evolved over the course of their development and production?
We've been a micro-budget series from the get-go but we've gotten smarter about putting the money we do have to good use. The Season 2 opener is a step up for us is many respects and much more in line with our truest vision of the show.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
Don't stop. We've been told over and over again that this show is not only entertaining, but necessary and informative.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
The feedback is the life force of the show. Independent film is not an easy space to work in and we are constantly drawing support from people reaching out to us.
What are you looking to achieve by having your series more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
We are always interested in reaching a wider audience and getting more people to see the series.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this series’s message?
We are currently seeking investors, funding or financial producers to bring on to finish Season 2.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this series to have?
We've already seen the impact that can be made with this project through our first season, and we are hoping that it gets even better for Season 2. Visibility is a huge deal.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this series?
Why should someone with a different life experience than your own not be entitled to everything you are?
Would you like to add anything else?
This project has always been about affecting people - trans or not - and it's incredibly rewarding to know the reach that we've had so far.
What are the key creatives developing or working on now?
We are kicking around a few different ideas for our next project, keep your eyes out!
