Last Life
Supernatural web-series about a pair of soul mates who when reunited, only cause destruction.
Interview with actress Ashley Park
Congratulations! Can you tell us about Last Life?
Thank you! I auditioned for the role of Nari, and I was fortunate enough to land the part. My character becomes an integral part of Last Life Season 2, which is now underway via Puma Squad Productions on YouTube.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this web series?
Last Life already has such a wonderful fan base, and it continues to grow! It's so much fun to be part of a show that has followers waiting eagerly on the edge of their seats to catch the next episode. This web series is unique, with so many smart and supernatural twists and turns. Not to mention an incredibly talented team behind it that is all about empowering women.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
Last Life has elements of everything you look for when you're hunting down the perfect show to keep up with every week. The script is so intelligently weaved by the talented producers, Elesha Barnette and Kathy DiStefano. The legend of Lilith is heavily addressed in the series, with a modern twist around every corner. I think fans will find that they will start to see the legend develop as the show progresses.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development and production?
Last Life has evolved into a popular web series with a devoted fan base. The casting is perfection, and the writing has to be stellar in order to keep this many fans coming back for more! The production value of Season 2 is absolutely incredible, so I definitely encourage checking out the show if you haven't yet - but take this as a warning that you might get hooked!
What type of feedback have you received so far?
Fans seem to really love the show, so I would say that is pretty positive feedback. The producers have been making their way around the country to festivals, and have been receiving other accolades for their hard work on the show.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Being in this industry, I am rarely surprised by much! No matter what you do, there will be both supportive fans and challengers. Feedback, whether negative or positive, is something I see as a tool to improve. Luckily, this show has a wonderful fan base of very supportive followers.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
We would love to have more fans of the show, of course. It's always wonderful to have a growing fan base, and the producers have worked very hard to bring such a quality production to YouTube via Puma Squad Productions.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
I'm sure the producers would love to have as much support as possible as the show continues to grow in popularity.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
I would love to see the series continue to grow and progress rapidly, just as it has been over the past couple of years. We would love for the fans to see this story play out in many more seasons to come!
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
Where is Eve? I like that one. And if it sounds confusing, that's perfect! Catching up with Season 1 and Season 2 so far will definitely get viewers up to speed, and hopefully on the edge of their seats for the next episode. They air every Friday.
Would you like to add anything else?
I have another web series ready to hit the web soon via SceneGirlsTV, called Bad Sex With Good People. I'm in it, and it also stars two Last Life regulars, Robert Palmer Watkins (General Hospital) and John Grohl. The producers are former Disney stars Sabrina Bryan and Kiely Williams.
