Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
Thank you. The aim of this short film is to show my skills, my style and my vision as storyteller. I did it to get the attention of producers and the industry pro. I took the story from the first pages of a feature script, so my dream is to realize it.
Imagine I’m a member of the audience. Why should I watch this film?
Because it's a blast. I think it has a good impact. If you're looking for something crazy you should watch it.
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
It's an urban story. I tried to mix my personal environment, the everyday life, with a surreal representation of the character's sensations. It's a cocktail of reality and visionary film language.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development and production?
The dialogue is a little bit different. The actors are not real actors, but they are exactly the characters of the story. I wrote the script with my brother, so he knew what to say. Sandro no, he didn't know what to say. He didn't want to read it and probably he didn't understand the plot til I showed him the final product. Their improvisation changed the dialogue and took more time in the editing session, but it's ok because they look so real.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
Someone told me I did a brilliant job, I got beautiful messages from festivals directors. Several festivals refused me.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
No, BlasterCore is not for everyone, I think you could love it or hate it.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
I don't know, I don't have a marketing plan, but wearemovingstories it's so cool and I love to join it.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
I need producers.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
I would like to leave my mark and get attention.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
A key question could be: “The actors was really drunk during the shooting?” And my answer could be: “Of course... and me too”.
Would you like to add anything else?
I just want to say BlasterCore is a one-man project: Filmed it in 4 hours in my uncle's warehouse with my Canon 6d, 4 lights, 1 Rode NTG-2 mic and 2 or 3 hundred beers. Actors were not actors and the green screen was a sheet bought in a dressmaking shop. No crew. I took every picture of the motion graphic animation from the streets of my city. The music tracks are my own productions. A real Zero budget short film.
