Looking for (ie buyer, distributor, sales agent, producer, media interest): Buyer / Distributor / Sales Agent
Congratulations! Why did you decide to make this film?
Georgiana and I were looking for something to make as we wanted to work together – we had met through mutual film industry friends who both thought we would get on really well. And they were right!
Why is the film called Crumble? Is it a specific or universal story?
The film’s title is a play on the dessert that the lead character Maebh orders at the end of the film – it’s referring to an actual apple crumble but it’s very tongue in cheek.
How did you find the story?
Georgiana has worked with writer Chris Brandon on numerous other projects and we told him we wanted to make a short together and did he have anything in his script drawer – and he sent us Crumble, which we both loved.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
It’s been very positive feedback which is lovely! We had a ball making it – we learnt a whole heap during production – as both George and I had both recently returned from London so it was our first project back in Sydney after many years away. Thankfully we managed to pull together an incredible cast and the performances have resonated with audiences.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Not so much – it’s a film that everyone has enjoyed, even the darker elements which are all so crucial to the story.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on this platform?
We would like to try this new platform to see how / what impact it could have on the fim. We ultimately want as many people to see it as possible, and get to know Georgiana as a Director as she is very talented and someone to watch as she progresses in her career.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify the message of this film?
We’d love to sell the film if possible!
What type of impact would you like this film to have?
We’d love this film to have a positive impact on both of our careers – it is a calling card of sorts for some longer form work we are developing together, so it’s a great taster of what’s to come.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate about this film?
The key question for me is one of body image and how your family can shape you as you grown into your own adulthood.
What other films are you developing or directing now?
We have a comedy web series in development at the moment, and Georgiana is writing her first feature with some producers back in her home country of NZ.
