Congratulations! Why did you make your film?
This movie was made because of my passion for telling a story where a woman would win in the end by playing by her own rules. I wanted her to manipulate every single one of the characters who surround her and think that they are more superior than her.

It's a fun little short with amazing actors and a quite surprising double-ending!
How do personal and universal themes work in your film?
I wanted my main character to be a junkie because I've dealt with junkies throughout my teenage years. One thing that I learned with them is that you can't trust a single word they say. At the same time, I wanted to break free from the stereotypical way of portraying junkies and have fun with them.
How have the script and film evolved over the course of their development and production?
From the moment where I hired my actors the script evolved exponentially. We worked on the script while rehearsing, creating improv situations where my actors felt comfortable bringing different lines and conflicts to the table.
What type of feedback have you received so far?
I've received a great deal of feedback and I really love it. This was the first short-film that I've ever done and the amount of lessons that I learned from it is amazing. There are things that I would have done differently, especially giving more time for the scenes to play out, but over-all the feedback has been positive and I am very proud of it.
Has the feedback surprised or challenged your point of view?
Most of the feedback has been things that I have already considered.
What are you looking to achieve by having your film more visible on www.wearemovingstories.com?
I am looking to reach a broader audience and also to connect with other starting filmmakers who are interested in the same type of filmmaking that I am interested in.
Who do you need to come on board (producers, sales agents, buyers, distributors, film festival directors, journalists) to amplify this film’s message?
At this point we would like journalists to spread the word about our short-film and upcoming projects that share a similar message.
What type of impact and/or reception would you like this film to have?
I love how after the credits, in the post-credit scene, I always hear the audience laughing. That for me is the sign that we did achieve what we wanted to do with this short-film.
What’s a key question that will help spark a debate or begin a conversation about this film?
How much improvisation did you do with your actors? That is the main question that people ask me about my movie.
Would you like to add anything else?
Filmmaking is an art-form that involves all other art-forms. That is something that I love to see in movies, and that I hope that I incorporated in this little short-film, especially with the use of music.
What are the key creatives developing or working on now?
Mariana Thome and Christian Jurgensen are working on a feature documentary entitled Scab Vendor - The Life and Times of Jonathan Shaw. One of the most important and influential artists in the history of tattooing, in 2001, Jonathan left the industry he pioneered to pursue a successful career as a writer. The documentary is in production and is expected to be released in early 2018.
